HUNNIC TRIBES, Western Turks. Samarasuna, circa 650-700. Drachm (Bronze, 26 mm, 2.41 g, 3 h). SRI SAMARASUNA ('His Perfection, Fighting Dog' in Brahmi) Bust of Samarasuna facing, head turned slightly to right, draped with two ribbons emerging from his right shoulder, wearing crown with senmurv's head to right between wings. Rev. Fire altar with two attendants, each holding spear; to lower left and right, illegible traces of legend, probably in Pahlavi. Göbl 259. Vondrovec, Type 259. Extremely rare. Minor corrosion, otherwise, very fine.
